There are basically two source of obtaining the AIPMT 2016 Answer Key – official and unofficial. The former implies CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) New Delhi which is the exam governing body. The latter implies various MBBS coaching institutes and education portals. The timing of release of the answer key from these two sources varies. The official key will be issued on 24 May 2016 and it will be available till 26 May 2016. The unofficial key will be released way faster, and it will be accessible from a few hours after the exam is conducted.
To calculate the approximate score using AIPMT 2016 Answer Key candidate must first procure the answer key that corresponds to his question paper set. It is very crucial to use only that answer key which matches the question paper code assigned to the candidate in the exam. Wrong key will result into wrong estimation of marks. The next step is to know the marking pattern applied for correct and incorrect answers. As per the exam pattern of AIPMT 2016, for every correct and incorrect answer, 4 marks will be credited and 1 mark will be deducted from the candidate’s score.
Now, the candidate can start matching his answers one by one using the AIPMT 2016 Answer Key. He must simultaneously count the number of correct and incorrect answers. If any question is not marked in the exam, it will attract neither positive mark nor negative mark. There will be a total of 180 questions to be assessed for evaluation of estimated score. When all the answers have been matched, the following formula can be applied: 4 x Number of Correct Answers – 1 x Number of Incorrect Answers = Estimated Score (Out of maximum 720 marks).
CBSE will publish the official AIPMT 2016 Answer Key on its website however candidates can access various versions of the answer key, from official as well as unofficial sources, on a single webpage on EntranceCorner website. Replica of candidates’ OMR sheets will be displayed by CBSE from 19 May to 23 May 2016. Candidates are suggested to download it by providing registration number and password correctly.
