Welcome Bride To The Family Speech

The people who are happiest during a wedding day, apart from the bride and the groom themselves are probably the newly wed couple’s immediate family members – the father of both the bride and groom, the mother of both the bride and groom, and the siblings of both the bride and groom. On this note, here is an example of a welcome bride to the family speech that may be delivered by any of the groom’s immediate family members.

The Introduction: “Good evening, guests! For those of you who may not know me, I am the groom’s father/mother/sister/brother. I stand here before you all to give a brief speech, which I ask you to generously bear for a few minutes. On behalf of the newly weds, I thank you for being here today to help us celebrate this joyous moment in their lives – the mark of their being more than just any ordinary couple, but rather of their being husband and wife. Your time and efforts go appreciated, I assure you. I know that it has made the beautiful bride and the charming groom who happens to be my son/brother, very happy.”

The Body: “And to the bride, I say congratulations and welcome to our family. I sincerely hope that you won’t regret choosing my son/brother for a husband. Anyway, it’s too late to back out now. Kidding aside, we are glad to accept you as part of our family. And just like your own, please know that we are here to assist you in any way we can. If you find that you are in need of someone to talk to, feel free to contact us or to keep in touch. We’re here to help you keep your marriage and to remind the both of you that your love for each other should be stronger than any trial or challenge that you will have to face along the way.”

“You see, marriage is never easy all the time. There will be times when you will argue, and there will be times when you will find living with each other quite difficult to bear. But don’t be fooled. Those ugly and difficult times serve to test how strong your love really is. We know how deeply you care about each other, and we are confident that you will make it through anything. But nevertheless, we are here to aid you when you feel like you’re at your weakest.”

The Conclusion: “So again, we welcome the bride to our family. May you accept us as your own as much as we love having you as part of ours.”

This, now, is an example of a welcome bride to the family speech.
