The all new Maruti A star has arrived in the Indian market with lots of expectations. It was perhaps the most awaited car of 2009, as people were expecting something new from Maruti. The new car hsa raised the hopes among the Indian people. A-Star is expected has a 1000cc engine, 37 bhp and it is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakhs (ex-showroom). The latest addition to the compact cars manufactured by Maruti Suzuki India Limited is ‘A-Star’. Launched in the last quarter of 2008, the premium hatchback flaunts unique styling in the exteriors, which sets it apart from the crowd. The car has been equipped with the next-generation K-series petrol engine, which delivers commendable power, torque and mileage. The Penta-drive technology, the highlighting feature of Maruti A-Star, ensures that the occupants enjoy a pleasurable ride in it.

Also, it has been reviewd that A-Star will be roomier than the current Alto and will offer better cabin comfort as well. The A-Star will be manufactured in India and sold across Europe, which means that you can expect it to offer relatively good levels of build quality and materials as well. As usual, this car too will be available in three variants. This means a good competition among the premium A2 segment with rival car models like Hyundai i10, Tata Indigo CS etc., This means another entry into huge hatchback cars segment into the Indian market. Design And Comfort
Maruti A-Star boasts of an aerodynamic design, with distinctive headlamps, body colored bumpers and newly designed wide radiator grille – in the front and stylish new comet-shaped taillights cluster – in the rear portion. The hatchback offers a comfortable ride to its occupants. The car has a seating capacity of five people, with enough head and leg room for the rear seat occupants.

Engine
Under the hood of Maruti A-Star lies a 3-cylinder K10B petrol engine, which churns out a power of 67 PS @ 6200 rpm with a peak torque of 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm. The engine has been equipped with multi-point fuel injection system and stands mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. It has been developed in such a way so to deliver the best-in-class fuel efficiency. The hatchback promises to deliver a mileage of 19.59 kmpl.

Interiors
The interiors of Maruti A-Star come across as the perfect combination of modernity and the customary look of a hatchback. The well-appointed interiors of the car feature crimson-illuminated instrument panel and a sporty pop-up tachometer. The audio system is integrated on the dashboard. The cabin also features digital trip meter, fuel gauge, clock and odometer.
