Tata motors to increase UV market share in Gujarat

Tata Motors, one of India’s largest car manufactures is a leading commercial and passenger vehicles maker. The company has a lot of feathers in its cap to which it has added another one named, Tata Aria, that has been gathering rave reviews ever since its launch in India. With the launch of Tata Aria, Tata Motors is planning to raise the company’s market share from current 12 per cent, in the UV ( utility vehicles ) segment in Gujarat. The group head of the utility vehicle, S. G. Saxena at the launch of the Tata Aria, said that Gujarat contributes to seven to eight per cent of sales of the utility vehicles. With Tata Aria, the Tata Motors is hopeful to get the sales graph going high. Though, he did not reveal any figure. Tata Motors overall market share is of 13 per cent in UV segment in India, which includes net sales of 17 per cent from the auto industry. The growth has been 21 per cent as 1.54 lacs vehicles have been sold in the first six months of this year. The graph will go around 12 per cent in the next six months which is higher than the last year. Tata Motors is growing at 22 per cent which is higher than the industry average market this year. It sold 19,100 UV units in the first six months of this year. Tata Motors is vouching on Tata Aria, as this crossover is a combination of sedan and SUV. The wheeler comes with advanced technology and stylish looks. The utility vehicle, designed according to Indian standards will come in three variants- Pride, Prestige and Pleasure. The savy Tata Aria wil be loaded with 2.2l DICOR CRDI Diesel engine with dual mass flywheel which generates maximum power of 140 PS and maximum torque of 320 Nm through the new Mark II gearbox. Saxena throwing some more light on the market share said, the competition is with the imported cars. The advantage Tata Motors has is of quality and pricing. Tata Aria is pitching against market players like Toyota Fortuner, Honda CRV and Mitsubishi Outlander in India. Tata Aria will soon be launched in the SAARC countries and also Europe. It is rumoured that Tata Motors is soon coming with a small car, though its not official yet. It is said that it may be name it ‘Dolphin’. With the growth seen in the Indian Auto Market, Tata is sure to capture the Automobile industry soon.
