Toyota Recall Model & Years

Sad news for Toyota car owners, Toyota issued a safety warning for its 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus cars. It is because of potentially deadly floor mats.

Car giant Toyota is finally taking action against huge number of complaints regarding its floor mat issues with certain car models. They announced a recall of all these affected model of vehicles.

Models that are being recalled could potentially have removable mats. It could also interfere with the pedal and can cause it to stick.

This is by far the biggest recall that the auto giant had to make in the U.S. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration issued a statement to all owners of Toyota and Lexus models from 2004-2010. They informed that car owners may need to send their vehicle in for recall.

The issue here is to do with the floor mats on some of the models of Toyota. It can cause the accelerator pedal to get stuck in a wide open throttle position and wedge itself against the floor mat. This is considered by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration as a major safety issue.

“A stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death,” said Toyota in its statement.
