Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break launches April 2016

Phil Spencer opened Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 press conference with a focus on growing the slate of first-party exclusives coming to both Xbox One and Windows 10.

The first to enjoy the spotlight was long delayed Quantum Break. A time-warping shooter from Remedy Games, it sees time falling apart after a temporal experiment goes wrong — and it’s finally confirmed for release in 2016.

While the gameplay trailer looked much like a standard third-person shooter, with some wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey powers in play, it appears a very strong example of the genre. It did, however, offer the first proper look at X-Men actor Shawn Ashmore in action, who has lent his performance to the game as lead character Jack Joyce.
